The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire has vowed to drag social media users to court for commenting about him over a piece of land he is alleged to have grabbed in Buikwe district.
He said those alleging that he grabbed the land on which Njeru Farm sits have not done research, urging that he legally acquired it about eleven years ago.
Speaking at his up country home in Kasheshero Mitoma district while meeting elders, Otafire said that such allegations were investigated by IGG and the Bamugemereire land commission and was cleared of any wrong doing.
The land in question is under the management of the National Animal Genetic Resource Centre and Databank, which is tasked with scientific animal breeding.
Mid this week, Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga asked Otafire to explain circumstances under which he came to take possession of the land after Buhweju County MP Francis Mwijukye had alleged that Otafiire who is for long been cited in cases of land grabbing is using ministry of Justice office to formalize his deals from the Ministry of Lands.
Otafire who later on donated about 3000 hoes to the people was requested by the elders not to leave active politics though he lost elections for Ruhinda county parliamentary seat in 2016.
