OVER 800 STRAY DOGS KILLED IN MBARARA MUNICIPALITY TO PROTECT PEOPLE’S LIVES

Over eight hundred stray dogs have been killed in Mbarara municipality as a strategy to improve security during day and night.
Dr. Moses Amanyire the Senior Veterinary Officer Mbarara municipality said this during an exercise of collecting carcasses of the poisoned dogs in Kamukuzi and Kakoba divisions Mbarara district.
Dr. Amanyire told www.mknewslink.com reporter that they have decided to kill the stray dogs because they have been biting females in thighs and lower limbs causing dangerous injuries which are expensive to treat.
He advised the public to avoid eating roasted meat in places they are not sure of adding that the dogs were killed with a dangerous poison.
Residents who talked to our reporter in Nkokonjeru cell in Kamukuzi division and Kisenyi cell in Kakoba division appealed to veterinary department to continue poisoning the stray dogs so that lives of their children can be protected.
