P.5 PUPIL KILLED BY ELECTRICITY IN NTUNGAMO

In Ntungamo—
A primary five Pupil of Omungyenyi primary school Ntungamo district has been electrocuted while playing with his friends in a forest.
The deceased has been identified as Darius Mwesigwa aged 14 a resident of Omungyenyi village in Omungyenyi parish in Rubaare sub-county, in Rushenyi county-Ntungamo district.
An eye witness who preferred anonymity told www.mknewslink.com that the deceased was playing in a forest whose trees had overgrown up to the electric wires.
Mujurizi Melkiades the Rubaare sub-county chief confirmed the incident referring to it as very unfortunate.
Mujurizi further urged parents to always sensitize their children about the dangers of playing with objects that are in contact with live wires.
He also tasked locals to always report to the authorities and power distributors (UMEME) in case some trees and other objects get in touch with transmission lines so that they are removed in a bid to save lives.
