P.6 PUPIL COMMITS SUICIDE IN IBANDA

In Ibanda—

A15 year old girl in Rwengorogoro cell Mpasha Parish, Rukiri Sub-County Ibanda district has committed suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Lydia Ahumwire a Primary six at Kibumbe Primary school in Kitagwenda District.

According to Juliana Kyomugisha the elder sister, the deceased was
last seen on Sunday in the afternoon and no one knew her whereabouts but the family remained with hope that maybe she had paid a visit to
her friends.

She added that they were shocked this morning around 8 am when Lydia
was discovered by her siblings hanging in a coffee tree near their
home.

The LCI Chairperson for Rwengorogoro cell, Ruth Mbabazi confirmed the development but however cautioned parents to treat their
children fairly even if they are in wrong.

By press time, the deceased’s body was still hanging since authorities
from Ibanda central Police station were yet turned up at the scene.
