PANIC: CHOLERA TO HIT IBANDA MUNICIPAL TRADERS, HAVE NO TOILETS
By Elly Karenzi
In Ibanda
Over 80 charcoal
traders in Ibanda Municipality who are operating their
businesses along Mpiira Street at Soweto Zone common
known as Ekyorora Nfuuzi are accusing the
leaders for failing to cater them with possible convenient places for short and
long calls.
Mr.
Godwin Musinguzi, the chairperson for Ibanda Municipal Charcoal traders said
that many customers, the business community and their children find themselves
lining along the toilets.
He noted that human
wastes are found heaped all over places including flies making the whole place
smelling.
Alone Tumwine a charcoal trader said many people
are forced to jump as they fear of getting contaminated with feces near the toilet
since they have no option.
Meanwhile efforts by our reporter to get a
comment from Town clerk
Bufunda Division Kebiita Lillian were futile since
her known
mobile phones were all off.
There is likely to face a challenge of cholera outbreak in the area because of open defecation and this comes after Bufunda Division leaders neglected the flash of toilets.
