PANIC: UNKNOWN PERSON THREATENS TO KILL JOURNALIST OVER TAKING PHOTOS IN KABALE

A journalist in Kabale district is in fears for his life after receiving death threats through a phone call by a not yet identified person.

Samuel Amanya a news reporter attached to Uganda Radio Network Kigezi Bureau alleges that on 24th may 2019 at 1; 14 pm he received a phone call from an unidentified male on a telephone number 0782,227,581 which is registered in the name of Penelope Akampurira Lynnette threatening to end his life soon.

Amanya said that the unidentified person is accusing him of having taken photos in Mwendo parish in Kitumba Sub County Kabale district the allegations Amanya denies.

Amanya further revealed that before switching the phone, the unidentified person told Amanya that he wants to kill him before publishing any of the taken photos.

Amanya wants the police to intervene with the help of the telecommunication company MTN to track the suspect to answer the charges accordingly.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter on phone, the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate said that they have already recorded the matter under reference file number SD 55/23/5/2019 as the hunt for the suspects continues.
