PARENTAL CARE NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL BUSHENYI WINS 2023 NATIONAL JUNIOR SCHOOLS DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Parental Care Nursery and Primary School, Bushenyi was on 12th May declared the winner of the 2023 National Junior Schools Debate Championships.
Parental Care Nursery and Primary school is not only good in debating but also academically is famous for registering the highest number of first grades every year, maintaining the pace for the last couple of years.
This year’s debate competition rotated around strengthening transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption as the only way to boost the country’s development.
The Chief guest Mr. Benson Turamye who is The Executive Director of Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), said it is every citizen’s responsibility to fight corruption including the young and old.
The competitions attracted schools like Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK), Bright Grammar Primary School, Masaka, Parental Care Nursery and Primary school among others.
Meanwhile, MPs were physically engaged in this very debate with students on how government can effectively use technology to leverage transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption. This was the first time since 2010 that students have been able to debate with the MPs.
However, Asimwe Sasha a proud student of Parental Care Primary School, Bushenyi tasked Government to provide a conducive environment to allow and protect citizens who use social media to volunteer information on corruption.
While responding to www.mknewslink.com Mr. Yebazamukama Trevor the Director of Parental Care Primary School said that what has kept his school on top is a secret of recruiting competent teachers who are capable of showing the learners the right direction for a better future.
He noted that they also invest much in sports and other co-curricular activities to better shape their learners not only to pass final exams but also to prepare them into future’s responsible citizens.
