PARENTS WARNED TO SAFEGUARD CHILDREN AS CASES OF KIDNAP INCREASE
By Aggrey Twesigye
In Ibanda—
Authorities in Ibanda district have warned parents and guardians to be careful with the safety of their children as cases of child kidnap shoot high in the district.
The Local council One chairman Kyaruhanga 1 Ibanda Municipality Steven Tumwine made the remark following the recent kidnap of a 4 and a half year old toddler of a child to Hannington Mujuni and Naomi Desire.
According to Tumwine, the child was yesterday kidnapped from his parents’ shop in Kyaruhanga 2, Kagongo Division.
Now, Tumwine has cautioned parents to be vigilant with the people who live within their respective communities adding that the kidnapper of the child came looking for a house to rent but ended up taking away the child though he was later rescued.
Robert Tumusiime the Kagongo Division Defence told www.mknewslink.com that this was the second child, kidnapped in a period of 4 months in Kyaruhanga ward.
Tumusiime appealed to parents and guardians to try so hard to safe guard their children as cases of child kidnap are on a rise in the area and Uganda in general.
