PATRIOTISM TRAINING IS A TOOL AGAINST STRIKES IN SCHOOLS -DR MUSENE

The ministry of education commissioner in charge of health institutions Dr. Safinah Musene Hajjati has commended the president’s office for organizing patriotism development course trainings in different schools and Institutions to equip learners with patriotism skills as one way of fighting indiscipline like strikes, theft, and vandalism of school properties.
Dr Musene added that patriotism has enabled Ugandans to acquire more skills of self defence and defend the country at large as well as shaping the mindset of people to be good citizens!
She disclosed this during the pass out of almost 80 patriotism cadres of health tutors and clinical instructors from all health training institutions in Uganda who successfully completed their seven days training course, held at St. John’s school of nursing and midwifery located in Rwashamaire town council where she was the guest of honour.
The training was organized by the association of principals of health training institutions in Uganda chaired by Rose Nassali alongside her general secretary Wilber Tukamuhabwa ( who’s also the principal of Ntungamo health training Institute- Nyarutuntu), And with support from the President’s office national secretariat for Patriotism corps headed by commissioner Brig. Gen. Patrick Mwesigye.
Dr. Musene appealed to nurses and midwives to implement what they have been taught during their course of Patriotism training and stop being rude against patients and pregnant mothers!
She also hailed private institutions for embracing the patriotism development course since they’re the majority compared to government health institutions in the country, the cadres included those from 31 private institutions as others were from the 19 government institutions.
She also saluted the chief trainer Lt. Colonel Mpabaisi Amooti (from the National secretariat for patriotism), Ntungamo district coordinator for Patriotism George Timbyetaho for his good cooperation with the team from the national secretariat and the host proprietor of St. John’s school of nursing and Midwifery Dr. John Mugisha and the security team of Rwashamaire town council headed by the area O.C. Beatrice Bananuka the assistant commissioner in charge of communication at the national secretariat for patriotism corps in the president’s office disclosed that the commissioned patriots are now recognized as transformation agents and appealed to them to use the acquired skills and be good ambassadors to serve the community effectively! She added that the skills should help them to fight vices such as corruption, idle talking and laziness to enhance economic transformation as well as remaining vigilant with zeal and enthusiasm and exhibit disciple at all times and places.
The passed out patriots were awarded with certificates and some gifted with different prizes for their activeness during their course of training among them was Hajjati Safina Musene (Dr) the day’s guest of honour who was gifted with a goat from the Association of principals of health training institutions in Uganda.
The patriots pass out function was attended by Ntungamo district Chief Administrative officer (CAO)’s representative Birungi Shallon Muhangi, Lt. Henry Ssensonga the chief Instructor-Drills from the National Secretariat, Deo Sebulimage the Assistant commissioner in charge of trainings-National secretariat, Cpl. Ibrah Sekito (also a trainer) among others.
