PEDESTRIAN KNOCKED DEAD ON NEW YEAR’S DAY IN KANUNGU

Police in Kanungu are hunting for a driver who knocked a pedestrian died yesterday at the New Year’s Day

Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the pedestrian as Sam Birungi a 51year old resident of Kanyamihini village Kanyantorogo town council Kanungu district.

Maate narrated that the yet to be known driver who was driving a motor vehicle registration no.UAY077D Isuzu ELF is still on the run.

The accident happened yesterday 1st Jan 2021 at round 1200hrs at Kanyamihini trading center along Kanungu Kihihi road.

Scene was visited by AIP Amara Godfrey OC traffic Kanungu, postmortem done and the body handed over to the relatives.

Motor vehicle is currently parked at police yard as police hunt for its driver.
