PLANT CLINIC LAUNCED IN KABAROLE

Plant clinics have been today launched in Karago and Kijura town councils, Kabarole district with the aim of offering technical advice to farmers on the pests and diseases that affect their crops.
Karago Plant Clinic will support and handle farmers from Karago town council, Kicwamba, Karangura and Bukuuku sub counties while Kijura Plant Clinic supports Kijura town council, Kabende and Hakibaale sub counties.
Peninnah Bahizi the agriculture officer Kabarole discloses that the Plant Clinic was initiated by the ministry of agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries with the intention of agricultural officers to offer advice to farmers on the diseases that attack and damage their crops where farmers are supposed to pick and bring the affected parts of the crop for examination.
Speaking at the launch today, the district chairperson Mr.Rwabuhinga Richard observed that the economy of Uganda is agro based commended government for introducing such pro farmer program that target and attract different farmers to learn on the diseases affecting the prosperity of the crop production.
He however noted that the Plant Clinic will be staged on Markets to attract many farmers but urged the agriculture officers to make it rotational in all the sub counties.
