In Masindi—
Police in Masindi are holding a 30year old conman who has allegedly been claiming to be an employee of Kiryandongo sugar limited.
The suspect identified as Fred Isingoma is a resident of Byerima village in Bwijanga sub county Bujenje county Masindi district.
He was arrested yesterday evening conning citizens in the name of Kiryandongo sugar limited claiming they were recruiting 250 tractor drivers and 1,000 sugar cane loaders.
Isingoma was running announcements on one of the radio stations in Masindi, unfortunately his forty days elapsed yesterday after he attempted to fake a police officer who instead arrested him.
Ms. Annet Najjemba the Programs Director Radio Kitara explains that the announcement was read like other announcements since they didn’t know that it would be harmful to the listeners.
This morning when we contacted Mr. Johnny Musagazi the communications manager Kiryandongo sugar factory, he said that though they are looking for workers, they didn’t assign anyone to recruit workers, and they don’t use media in advertising job vacancies.
In an effort to get a comment from ASP Julius Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson was futile by the time filed this story since he didn’t respond to our repeated phone calls.
