POLICE BLOCK GEN. TUMUKUNDE FROM CAMPAIGNING IN KISORO DISTRICT

Police in Kisoro district yesterday blocked the presidential candidate Gen. Tumukude from conducting his campaign claiming he had not followed the electoral commission time table.

Gen. Tumukunde was supposed to be in Kisoro on Tuesday then to Rubanda district but he could not make it because of heavy rains.

He arrived at Kabale primary school playground at 2:15 pm but due to heavy rains, he opted to advance to Rukiga without addressing the public.

Accompanied with boda boda riders ,Tumukunde made a stopover at Kitumba trading Centre in Kabale district before advancing to Rukiga and he later in the evening addressed the locals on radios.

However, Tumukunde continued to defy the Electoral Commission campaign law of stopping campaigns at 6pm.
