POLICE IN KISORO RECOVERS ABANDONED SMG RIFFLE

The Police in Kisoro on 20th June 2018 recovered an SMG rifle abandoned by the roadside.
Believed to be of a private security company, RPS; the gun number SAR NO.UG POL K425455-105348 was recovered at Nyamushungwa village, Mabungo parish Nyarusiza subcounty Kisoro.
Kigezi Region Police spokesperson Elly Maate has confirmed the recovery of the said gun.
He added that the gun was found abandoned in grass by the roadside and that it belongs to RPS a private security group.
“The gun had one live bullet in the chamber and more 3 bullets not accounted for. RPS supervisor had reported the disappearance of his staff Nsenjiyunva Robert vd SD 14/20/6/2018,” Matte said.
The suspect, Nsenjiyunva is on the run as inquiries go on.
This is a second abandoned gun to be recovered in just a space of 6 hours today after the first one was recovered today morning in Bushenyi Trading centre, Nyarusiza subcounty.
According to the Kisoro Out going Rdc Hajji Shafik Sekandi, a total of 17 guns have so far been discovered from different parts of Kisoro district.
