POLICE OPEN GENERAL INQUIRY FILE AGAINST BUSHENYI ISHAKA MUNICIPAL CORRUPT OFFICIALS

Following vuvuzela anti corruption campaign launched by Make Bushenyi greater again, civil society and residents on Monday, the DPC Joel Komakech calmed down the demonstrators.
In the meeting with the demonstrators held at DISO’s office today morning, the DPC Komakech said that he will open a general inquiry file against the municipal engineer Deus Baingana, procurement officer Roberto Nuwagira, treasurer Jackson Muhwezi Beyendeza and the town clerk Makune William.
“You civilian generals don’t get worried, am going to investigate your issues to the bottom. I will invite officers from economic crimes department at police headquarters to investigate the matters,” Komakech promised.
Komakech noted that he is going to force the town clerk and his team to give him information which they refused to give to the citizens.
He added that he will also invite police engineers from head quarters to come and investigate the mess at the Municipal engineering department.
According to the PPDA report of 23rd Oct.2019 about activities in the municipality which www.mknewslink.com has a copy, over 300 million was lost in procurement of roads and other contracts.
On the other hand, the generals led by Pison Mugizi ,Richard Kangwana, Apollo Lee Kakonge, Smart Majid and Nyakabirizi speaker Mackay vowed not to leave the DISO’s compound until the town clerk Makune delivers procurement plan, Bills of quantities and other information they demand from him.
The team of civilian generals also accepted to call off the Vuvuzela blowing strike for the mean time but threatened to resume if they don’t get the information they demand from the town clerk.
