The office of the chairman Bushenyi Central Cell alongside Greater Bushenyi Police Station yesterday held an official emergency security meeting to mobilize residents on how they can be security conscious.
This follows theft and burglary cases that are continuously happening with in Bushenyi district leaving settlers in panic of losing their lives and properties.
The meeting was organised yesterday 12th Nov.2019 at Bushenyi Municipality Play Ground by the LCI Chairman Milton Mwebembezi and attended by residents from Omukyitookye and others from Bushenyi town plus local leaders of Bushenyi Central Division.
Speaking as the GISO during the meeting, Topha Kamusiime appealed to all residents to collaborate with police by alerting them of any security threat as soon as possible.
He also urged them to not only wait for police but to be security conscious noting that at least every family should have security tools like panga, axe, and spears for defence in case of an intruder.
The Greater Bushenyi Police OC Station Abaho assured residents that as police they are not just seated but they are trying to work hard to eliminate all the wrong doers who are terrorising people.
He however asked the LCI chairman to also form a security committee of at least six trusted people to help him when patrolling around.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com after the meeting, the Bushenyi central division Chairman LC III Mr. Steven Karuti said that people should be vigilant on theft issues.
He advised them on putting security lights on their homes, lock their houses tightly.
They resolved that every person should contribute a small amount of money to buy tools like spears, panga and uniforms to be used by security committee after it is formed.
