POLLING AGENT HELD OVER BALLOT STUFFING IN KYENJOJO

Police in Kyenjojo are holding one of the polling agents in the recently concluded parliamentary elections who was caught red handed issuing out more than two ballot papers to the voters.
Rwenzori West police spokesperson Afande Vincent Twesige who did not disclose the name of the suspect noted that the suspect was employed by electoral commission as a polling agent at Rugombe polling station, Mwenge north constituency in Kyenjojo district.
The suspect was identified by an agent of one of the candidates on Thursday issuing more than one ballot paper for parliamentary seat; he was arrested and taken to Kyenjojo police station.
His file was taken to the state attorney and will soon be taken to court on charges of Ballot staffing.
Presidential and parliamentary elections were held on Thursday last week and NRM’s Yoweri Museveni was announced the winner after pulling over 58.6% of the total votes.
