The Bushenyi district secretary for education Peace Tibakuna has
tasked the education ministry to demote all head teachers whose
schools performed poorly in the 2017 UNEB examinations.

Tibakuna noted that this will be a one way of enhancing academic
standards in government aided schools whose performance has remained nagging.

She lamented that government aided schools have lowered in enrollment
while others are about to close due to poor academic standards because
parents rushed to private institutions looking for good performance of
their children.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com during an exclusive interview today in Ishaka town, Tibakuna said there is a need for enforcement by education department to head teachers to improve on schools performance so as to regain public supremacy.

However she asked parents to always supervise and monitor their
schools and report any scandals that are likely to affect their
schools’ performance.
