PRESIDENTIAL MODEL PROJECT LAUNCHED IN KABAROLE

Ugandans have been urged to change their mind set and move away from subsistence agriculture to commercial to embrace industrialization.
Ham Mugenyi the Chairperson Board Uganda Development Corporation (UGC) says that countries that have developed embraced the idea of industrialization which promotes value addition for locally produced hence social -economic transformation.
Mugenyi was representing Gen. Salim Saleh Akandwanaho the National Coordinator Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) program on Thursday as a chief guest at the launch of Rwengaju Model Parish Presidential project at Kyembogo DATIC, Rwengaju parish, Busoro Sub County.
He noted that since Rwengaju is the first Model parish in the country, he pledged support adding that it will be used as a learning center for all districts.
The residents of Rwengaju received 500 piglets, 150 cows and are yet to receive 15000 chicks and 1500 goats and 200m shs for SACCOs
Richard Rwaabuhinga District Chairperson revealed that the president identified Rwengaju to develop it into a model parish with intention of attracting other districts to learn and share experience about modern farming and also transforming the lives of the people.
He however cautioned the beneficiaries against misusing the things received so as to generate income to educate their children and improve their household status.
Rwabuhinga revealed that as a district they are specializing on Agro -Processing Industrialization to add value to the farmers produce and fight unemployment among the youth whose percentage stands at 74%.
