PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD SHOOTS UPDF OFFICER DEAD IN MBARARA

Police in Rwizi Region are investigating circumstances that led to shooting of a UPDF officer by a private guard.

The incident happened on 22/02/2021 at around 0130hrs at Nyakakoni cell, Ruti, Nyakayojo Division, Mbarara city.

The Rwizi police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira intimated to www.mknewslink.com  that the deceased L/CPL Denes Muhindo of 2nd Division Makenke was gunned down by Eldadi Kyakabale a private security guard.

Muhindo was at the time of the shooting deployed at Birya United Agencies Ltd Ruti while Kyakabale was guarding classic wine factory located in the same area.

According to Kasasira, Kyakabale a security guard attached to G and D confronted Muhindo who was coming from a nearby bar before shooting him (Muhindo Denes) dead.

Kasasira told www.mknewslink.com  that they visited the scene of the crime and arrested the suspect with his killer weapon UG POL 42511105833 plus two rounds of ammunitions and one cartilage.

He said that they are still investigating to discover the motive behind the shooting.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was removed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
