PS BIGIRIMANA THANKFUL AS 2021 ENDS ON HIGH NOTE

The Permanent Secretary, Secretary to the Judiciary and accounting officer to the Judiciary Mr. Pius Bigirimana, has attributed his threefold success in the year 2021 to God’s favor upon his life.
Bigirimana made the remarks on New Year’s Eve at his new country home in Chuho village, Gasiza parish, Nyakabande Sub County, Kisoro district.
Bigirimana said the essence of organizing the thanksgiving was to thank God and the President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Museveni who found and maintained their trust in him.
Bigirimana explained that he currently holds three positions in the Ministry of Judiciary which is no easy feat however he is prepared to perform his duties.
Mr. Bigirimana, who is not new to media coverage in this country, made headlights in 2021 after winning a defamation case in civil court against Daily Monitor publication and its weekend editions.
The High Court in Kampala ruled that Mr. Bigirimana should be paid Shs450 million at an interest rate of 10% from the date of judgment to the date of payment on both general and punitive damages.
The court also ordered the publication to grant Mr. Bigirimana an apology on the front page of the newspaper for a period of two weeks at least two times a week.
Bukimbiri County Member Of Parliament Hon. Eddie Kwizera WA Gahungu said Bigirimana and his high levels of integrity and professionalism eventually vindicated him.
He noted that corrupt officials attempted to tarnish his image however the truth came to light adding that all Ugandans, especially the people of Kisoro need to be proud of Mr. Bigirimana.
State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs and Kisoro Woman Member of Parliament Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi said Bigirimana has always been someone she looked up to for mentorship.
She applauded him for his stellar character and promised to work to serve Ugandans in a similar manner.
Mr. Bigirimana continues to shine as he was recently awarded an honorary PhD in Leadership and Management from Stratford University has awarded Pius Bigirimana, the permanent secretary of the Judiciary.
Bigirimana is credited with the implementation of the digitized court case management and the use of video conferencing for court trials.
It has minimized the risk of direct interaction between judicial officers and their clients thereby lowering the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
According to Bigirimana, the award is a validation of his belief that devoted attention to duty always attracts unexpected and heartwarming rewards.
Pius is a long-serving civil servant, currently a PS/Secretary to Judiciary who has championed innovative reforms where he has worked which have boosted accountability and efficiency in Government programs.
He holds two masters from the University of Manchester and ESAMI. He is an author of five books, prominent are; Abundance Mentality and Corruption: A tale of Wolves in sheep’s clothing
