Sharing face masks has been noted as a new habit developing among Ugandans especially passengers using public transport, which exposes them to a high risk of contracting COVID- 19 and other diseases.
Dr. Geoffrey Anguyo, the founder of Kigezi Healthcare Foundation (KIHEFO) in Kabale district revealed this in an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com
He added that there is a likely outbreak and increase in the spread of diseases like Tuberculosis, Asthma and Pneumonia in Uganda because of sharing face masks by residents.
He however urged public to use right masks correctly and advised that they should stay at home and avoid going into public places if they do have a mask.
He adds that there is a need for the government to use all platforms to inform public on the proper use of masks.
Government recently kicked off the distribution of free government masks beginning with boarder districts.
