RELIGIOUS LEADERS ARE CORRUPT—LAWYER NGARUYE RUHINDI

A Senior Mbarara based advocate Boniface Ngaruye Ruhindi has said that
majority of the religious leaders in the country are trapped in
corrupt tendencies.

He said some ask for money give more blessings and grace to the folks
while other embezzle church offertories given by the Christians

Addressing journalists at little woods hotel in Mbarara Mr Ngaruye
expressed concern over the misconduct of the religious leaders whom he
said some will even embezzle the offertory collected during this
Easter season adding that the practice is making them lose moral
authority to fight the vice.
Reverend Father Didus Kasapuli the parish priest at Uganda Martyrs
Church in Mbarara Municipality conquered with the Advocate though he
hastened to add that the Roman Catholic Church is not supporting
corruption .
He said the prevailing corruption levels in the country are pausing a
serious challenge to government adding that even the opposition will
not eliminate it because it is completely entrenched into people’s blood
more especially the leaders and called for urgent need to empower
citizens who can help to reverse the trend.
