RESIDENTS MOVE TO CENSURE LC 1 CHAIRPERSON FOR MISUSING VILLAGE STAMP, ABUSE OF OFFICE

More than 300 residents of Mairo-Rugarama Cell, Nyabuhama ward in Mbarara City North division have signed a petition moving a vote of no confidence in their LC I Chairperson, Mrs.Jovate Atuhwera Komunda .
The petitioners accuse Komunda of conniving with Cattle thieves and her children being implicated in theft of property in the village
Mr.Benon Muganga the village general secretary who is among the petitioners, accuses Komunda of issuing forged transfer letters for domestic animals, which causes conflict.
Mrs.Bukenya Ninsiima a resident faulted Mrs.Komunda of failure to safe guard her tools of power including the village stamp which herson (Nasasira Brian) used to forge a transfer letter for a stolen cow.
Some Residents however claim that the signatures collected in the censure of the chairperson are not genuine.Some say they did not understand what was contained in the documents which was written in English,thus they were misguided.
However George Nkuba the chairperson Local council two Nyabuhama ward Said these are political fights since the general secretary Mr.Benon Muganga stood against Mrs.Jovate Atuhwera Komunda in the previous village elections but was defeated hands down.
“All the two parties need is reconciliation but these political fights will not help” Nkuba explained.
The accused Chairperson Mrs.Jovate Atuhwera Komunda confessed that it’s true that his son stole the village stamp which he used to forge a transfer letter for a cattle he had stolen but she arrested him and handed him to Biharwe police station.she pleaded for forgiveness.
The mayor Mbarara city north division ,Mr.Gumisiriza Kyabwisho Benon appealed to local leaders to put aside their political differences, reconcile and work together for the development of their village.
Mr.Gumisiriza constituted a committee of ten elders to sit the two parties on a round table for reconciliation.
