ROAD-MAP FOR NRM PRIMARIES OUT; 15 IN A RACE FOR SHEEMA MUNICIPALITY

NRM electoral commission has released an election road map for party primaries for new municipalities and local government.
According to chairman electoral commission for the party, Dr. Tanga Odoi, nominations of candidates for members of parliament will be on 7th May 2018, after which the successful nominees will carry out joint campaigns effective on 10th May 2018.
Then voting and tallying of results will be on 31st May 2018 and the elected flag bearers will be identified.
Meanwhile, in Sheema, the number of interested candidates has now risen to 15 amid increasing competition.
In Ibanda, 22 people have already shown their interest for municipality seat.
Interested candidates include; Jonas Tumwiine ‘Omushana Gwa Sheema’, Jonathan Bongonzya, Kada Mucunguzi, Nkwasibwe Poly Kataate, among others.
This follows after the electoral commission of Uganda released the roadmap for elections for new municipalities, town councils and sub counties set for July 2018.
