RUBANDA BARBER MURDERED, BODY DUMPED IN SWAMP

Police in Rubanda are investigating circumstances under which a barber was murdered and body dumped in a swamp
The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Godfrey Biryomumisho aged 30, a barber resident of Busenze cell, Kigeyo ward Rubanda district.
It’s alleged that on 19th of June 2022 at around 2200hrs, Kanyesigye Rodgers was crossing a swamp, going to his home in Kantora cell where he found a battery suspected to be of the deceased.
Maate said that Rodgers then called Alex a villagemate of the deceased asking if he had reached home. Alex called the deceased’s wife identified as Ninsima Catherine aged 25 years who said her husband hadn’t yet gone home.
The wife of deceased informed the area chairman Charles Kitabulaza and with other villagers they went and met Rogers who led them where they found the battery and that’s when they saw the body of the deceased in a trench of the swamp.
Police were accordingly informed, scene was visited by DCIDO D/Asp Aine Bernice and team, body of the deceased found with several deep cuts on the face, hands, legs and chest, was taken to Kabale RRH and postmortem done.
No arrests has been made yet though inquiries are still at hand and the case of suspected murder was registered at Rubanda Central Police station under reference number CRB: 188/2022.
