Rubanda district tally center in Mulore is under tight security as final results from the LCV district chairperson and District councilors are being tallied.
About 70 UPDF soldiers under the command of the RDC Peter Rwakifari and the District Police Commander Tai Ramathan are currently deployed at the district tally centre.
Access to the center has been restricted to international and local observers, some diplomats and accredited international and local journalists, and officials from the Electoral Commission.
National NRM party chairperson Tanga Odoi earlier had earlier warned that no one, apart from the officials from the tallying room will have access to the data being tallied in the computers.
Tanga Odoi’s warning followed an incident where voters almost killed Turyahebwa Enock the Rubanda town council registrar after he was caught redhanded changing the results from Hamumba village in Nyarurambi parish Rubanda district.
According to voters had converged at Rubanda district Pastori Twinomuhangi polled 184 and his opponent Steven Kasyaba polled 90 in Hamumba village but reaching on the tally center pastori’s results were increased to 484 votes which angered voters .
