RUBANDA MAN ARRESTED FOR IMPREGNATING HIS DAUGHTER

Police in Rubanda District is holding a 71 year old man for allegedly
raping and impregnating his 19 year old biological daughter.

The suspect has been identified as Deus Turyatemba; a resident of
Kagugo cell, Byayu parish Nyamweru Sub county in Rubanda District.

The victim who is now carrying a pregnancy of seven months claims that her father started demanding for canal knowledge in August 2016, a few days after the death of her mother.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate has confirmed the
arrest of the suspect, saying that he was arrested yesterday after the
victim told the relatives that her father is responsible for the pregnancy she is carrying. She later reported the matter to police.

Maate said that it is unfortunate to find that a father who should be
protecting his daughter is the one abusing her sexually.
