RUBIRIZI BODABODA SUSPECTED THIEF BEATEN TO DEATH

Police in Rubirizi district are holding two people for allegedly lynching a 30 year old man suspected to be a motorcycle thief
John Byamugisha a resident of Rwandaro village, Rumuri parish Kicwamba subcounty who was suspected to be a motorcycle thief was yesterday beaten by group of people till he fell unconscious.
According to eye witnesses police rescued him in critical condition, took him to Rugazi hospital where he was referred to KIU but died on the way.
SP Martial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police public relations officer has confirmed the detention of the two suspects at Rubirizi police station adding that police are hunting for more involved people.
Tumusiime revealed that Byamugishas body is still in KIU mortuary as investigations are still going on.
The PRO advised the public to always report their cases to police rather than taking laws in their hands noting that mob justice is an offence thus punishable.
