RUKIGA COUNTY ASPIRANT WITHDRAWS FROM 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS, NOMINATES HIS COMPETITOR

Medard Gumisiriza, one of the FDC party aspirants for Rukiga constituency has withdrawn from the race.
Medard who is the former lecturer at mountains of the Moon University in Fort portal was contesting against Adison Kakuru, Herbert Kabafunzaki, Besigye Laston, Asaasa Eliab,Roland Ndyomugyenyi ,Nebye Steven Rutaro and Musinguzi Elias Brian.
However on Friday, Medard appeared at Rukiga district electoral commission offices in Muhanga town council to nominate his fellow competitor on FDC ticket Nebye Steven Rutaro.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter at the electoral commission office in Muhanga town council, Medard said that he is no longer interested in the race.
Medard claimed that he has already predicted irregularities in coming polls so that’s why he has formed a coalition with his fellow FDC members so as to win the ruling government.
He added that he will support the FDC flag bearer for the betterment of the party and to reduce on confusion.
Medard pledged to lobby support for Nebye Steven Rutaro who is the FDC flag bear of Rukiga County.
James Mugarura , the Rukiga District electoral commission returning officer says that he has been alerted about Medard’s withdrawal.
