RUKIGA POLICE ARREST 8 OVER UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY

Police in Rukiga district are holding 8 people over holding unlawful assembly.
The suspects are Addah Kahababo the host, Aggrey Elias Mubangizi, a resident of Kafunda ward in Ibanda town council who migrated from Kokyezo, in Nyamweru Sub County Rubanda, who has been acting as a pastor under the Church named Full-gospel.
Others are Christine Arinda, Apofia Tumusiime, Hope Nyamurungi, Annah Mugabirwe, Moreen Nyangoma, and Angellah Nyangoma, residents in the parishes of Kitojo, Nyarurambi and Kangondo ward.
According to the Rukiga District Police Commander John Mwaule, they received reports from husbands that their wives had abandoned the children at home. He noted that Kyarikunda had spent 3 Months without reporting home yet she had two children that needed her care.
Mwaule said that it is unfortunate that the church has been only having a single man acting as a pastor while others are women, adding that they will be taken before court to answer charges of holding unlawful assembly and domestic violence to those who abandoned families.
