RUKIGA RDC ARRESTS PASTOR AMIDST PRAYERS

The Rukiga Resident District Commissioner, Emmy Ngabirano on Saturday arrested a born again church leader and halted prayers that had been conducted by unregistered religious group in Kagondo cell, in Rwamucucu Sub County.
Ngabirano said that the group of about 10 people had been holding
night prayers for the lprevious 2 weeks, in the house of Addah Kahababo in Kangondo cell, an issue he said that it was putting security on tension.
The arrested church leader was identified as Pastor Aggrey Elias Mubangizi who was acting as priest.He is detained along with 10 members of his church at Rukiga police station while investigations into the matter going on.
Ngabirano says that Mubangizi was found in possession of different
documents indicating that he is a resident of Bufunda ward in Ibanda
South County in Ibanda town council.However other documents identified him as a resident of Kiyenje Trading centre in Rukungiri District yet he personally claims that he is from Nyamweru sub county of Rubanda District.
Ngabirano ordered prayers to immediately stop and advised people who
wish to start their own churches to follow the laws of Uganda by
registering their churches from LC1 to National level as Non Governmental Organization Board.
Kahababo one of Christians told www.mknewslink.com reporter at Rukiga police station that they had been praying at their church freely until Saturday when the area RDC stormed their place ordering them to close.
