Thousands of mourners have this evening thronged Kifunjo ward in Rukungiri municipality to pay their last respect to Edson Nasasira who was on Wednesday shot dead by policemen while defending the constitution of Uganda.
Hundreds of mourners who turned up wearing red attires and headbands praised the deceased as a Hero who died while fighting for the constitution of Uganda.
Nasasira was on Wednesday shot dead by police men when they were trying to disperse crowds of people who had turned up to meet Col.Dr Kizza Besigye and other FDC officials.
The opposition officials were in their Togikwatako campaign opposing plans by the government to amend article 102b of the constitution and allow president Museveni continue ruling even beyond 75 years of age.
The MP for Rukungiri municipality; Hon. Rolland Mugume Kaginda who headed the Togikwatako team, castigated police for using unnecessary excessive force and being partisan.
He vowed they will continue with the struggle to defend the constitution until their voice is heard.
