RUKUNGIRI CORONA VIRUS TASK FORCE TRACE FOR 20 SUSPECTED PEOPLE

The Rukungiri district Corona Virus task force in conjunction with the district health department are tracing for the whereabouts of 20 people who are said to have returned from abroad and are apparently in the district.
This was revealed by the District Health Officer Dr.Akasima Mucunguzi in a corona virus task force meeting held at Rukungiri district headquarters.
Dr. Akasima told the meeting that the traced people have been working abroad and this puts the lives of their family members at a great risk of contracting the disease.
Dr. Akasima added that some of these people are said to have travelled in the same plane with the first confirmed COVID 19 case from Dubai,while some returned from Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.
He said that all 20 people are all Ugandans originating from Rukungiri but from different sub- counties. Our reporter was able to trace only 2 who are residents of Ruhinda sub- County and Bikurungu town council in Rukungiri district.
Dan Kaguta, the Resident District Commissioner at the same time chairperson task force told the meeting that the traced people entered the district 4 -3 days back and are hiding themselves adding that some are being hidden by their family members calling the public to help the task force and the police in tracing their whereabouts.
Kaguta cautioned the public against defiling presidential directives saying that whoever is caught will be arrested.
Elias Byamungu, the district Chief Administrative Officer asked the public to embrace presidential directives and ensure hand washing as way of crabbing down the spread COVID 19.
