RUKUNGIRI: FIRE BURNS TO ASHES STUDENTS’ PROPERTY AT RWABUKOBA SECONDARY SCHOOL

Fire has gutted girls’ dormitory at Rwabukoba Secondary school in Ruhinda sub-county, Rukungiri district burning Students’ property to ashes.
According to Rev. Caleb Karabamu the school Chaplain, fire broke out in the wee hours of yesterday morning in a room where all female students had left their property.
Rev. Karabamu told www.mknewslink.com reporter that the destroyed property included mattresses, suite cases, basins and jerry cans which the students left back in their residences as they went home in awake of corona virus outbreak.
Rev. Karabamu added that by the time police reached the scene at around 4:15am ,all the property had perished so they resorted to stopping fire from spreading to the next rooms.
SP Moses Nanoka, the Rukungiri District Police Commander confirmed to our reporter that the fire which destroyed all the property to ashes is suspected to have originated from electricity short circuit.
Nanoka further warned residents to be vigilant on the safety of their property especially during this time adding that other people are using this chance to commit crimes.
