RUKUNGIRI HUSBAND SETS FAMILY HOUSE ABLAZE ACCUSING WIFE OF ADULTERY

A woman in Rukungiri municipality together with her three children is living homeless after the husband set their house ablaze.
The husband Bernard Tumwijukye a resident of Keitumura village, Northern B in Eastern Division is alleged to have set the house on fire accusing the wife of adultery.
Debra Namara whom our reporter found stranded in the morning of yesterday tearfully narrated that the husband destroyed all the household property on Sunday night.
Namara said that the husband first threatened to kill them and later forced them out before setting all the household items ablaze including beddings, clothes, chairs among others worth millions of shillings.
Namara who owns a stall in Rukungiri central market revealed to our reporter that she has had long misunderstanding with the husband who accused her of engagement in multiple sexual practices especially during working hours.
ASP. Harriet Nasuna, the Rukungiri Central Police O.C CID confirmed the incident adding that the fortunately, the family members survived death.
She called on the members of the public to engage in productive activities especially during this time of unexpected lockdown rather than redundancy that end up in domestic violence.
Police arrested Tumwijukye and is being detained at Rukungiri Central Police Station where an arson charge has been preferred against him under reference no. CRB 10/83/2021
