RUKUNGIRI: LC I CHAIRPERSON MURDERED BY NEPHEW IN COLD BLOOD

Police in Rukungiri district are holding a 29 year old man for allegedly murdering his uncle in cold blood.
The suspect Kennedy Tumanye is a resident of Kyaruhotora cell Burora parish, Nyarushanje Sub county in Rukungiri district.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson as Tumanye Kennedy who is in custody allegedly killed his uncle Samuel Nabimanya 46 the village Chairperson.
Maate told www.mknewslink.com that Nabimanya left his first home on 23rd July 2021 at around 5pm, heading to Kabihi trading center to enforce the presidential directives on COVID-19 pandemic.
The PRO added that the deceased’s first wife Beinomugisha Jacklin 35 waited for him but he didn’t show up only to be informed on Saturday that her husband’s body was lying on the way to her home.
Residents told our news reporters that Tumanye (the suspect) a nephew to the deceased had a long term conflict with the deceased which had even been reported to police.
This prompted Police to search Tumanye’s home where they discovered blood stained clothes.
The case of murder by cutting has since been registered at Rukungiri Central police station under reference number CRB 1152/2021.
Postmortem was done and body handed over to the relatives for burial.
