RUKUNGIRI LCI CHAIRPERSONS STORM OUT OF MEETING OVER TRANSPORT ALLOWANCES
By Ambrose Kweronda
In Rukungiri—
Local council chairpersons from Rukungiri municipality on Thursday angrily left a meeting organized by Rukungiri municipal authorities to induct them on property valuation.
The meeting started well at around 09:45 but trouble began at 12:17 pm when chairpersons were told to wait for their sitting allowances of 20000 shillings through their mobile money accounts.
However, Chairpersons argued that some of them had borrowed transport and promised to pay back after the meeting.
Prosper Tagobya the Rukungiri municipal assistant town clerk challenged chairpersons to be good examples and patiently wait for their allowances once approved.
The Property valuation exercise has been launched today and will be carried out in the municipality where all commercial and residential buildings will be valued for purposes of taxation
