In Rukungiri—
As Bakiga proverbs goes “Akazare kakye nokashumbiraho” loosely translated that when you get a small opportunity, you utilize it well to lead you to other bigger opportunities, it is what happened with politically wounded politicians at Annasitasia Kobugabe memorial mass last Sunday in Rukungiri District.
Ambrose Kibuuka Tumwesigye’s mother memorial mass in Nyabubare, Bwambara, Rujumbura County, Rukungiri district, it was a well-planned memorial mass which turned into a political cleaning event when losers and winners met at the same platform.
It all started when Ambrose Kibuuka started introducing his friends one by one. As he introduced his friends, a group of politicians who lost in last Parliamentary elections emerged with unhappy faces and moved in front with angry footsteps.
They faked ugly faces were full of unanswered political questions. The audience started lamentations seeing brave men and women who would be holding high positions and making serious decisions, abandoned yet most of them were cheated in the broad day light. They later put on a smile and poured out their aggreviencies.
Among the mentioned cause of their failures were; political sabotage which include political covid19 which is not mentioned in research trials yet existed in Rukungiri during last elections.
Some confessed that their votes vanished in ballot paper boxes while others sited high political intimidation facilitated by political leaders. To add salt to the wound, even those who were promised some opportunities in the government are still stuck loitering in political corridors as most juicy political positions are shared to the most favored, leaving the young politicians walking with angry footsteps as their hopes nearly fading out.
The memorial mass ressurected the political memories and balanced religious and Political issues in the highly attended event which attracted more than one thousand people.
The event began with a memorial mass led by Rev. Fr. Dr Julius Turyatoranwa the Dean of Nyakibale Deanery who is also the parish priest of Christ the King church Rukungiri. He represented Rt.
