RUKUNGIRI LEADERS WARNED AGAINST RUMORS WHILE SERVING

The Rukungiri District and Municipal local council three chairpersons have been asked to bring services closer to their people they lead.
This was revealed by the security Minister who doubles as the Rujumbura county Legislator Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi during a meeting attended by all Rukungiri district and Municipal LC III chairpersons and the District Executive Committee (DEC) at Hotel Riverside in Rukungiri Municipality.
The purpose of the meeting was to build team work amongst political leaders to help them achieve their intended goals.
Hon. Jim Muhwezi asked the attendants to play their roles and serve people accordingly to fulfill what the electorates expect from them.
Muhwezi explained that 39% (16.1million people) of the Ugandan population are still under subsistence lifestyle where they produce what to eat adding that the government is working hard to ensure that people engage in commercial production and increase their household incomes.
The Minister described the current Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen as one of the best and hardworking RDCs in the country especially when it comes to unification of Rukungiri District leaders adding that where cooperation is, nothing will stop the district from getting all better services needed.
Muhwezi however called upon sub county chairpersons to make by-laws that will stop people especially men from enjoying luxury and leaving their responsibilities to women narrating that such must be stopped and all people work for development.
He continued that leaders should also sensitize people and promote cleanliness in homes and community so that illness related to poor hygiene such as jiggers are dealt with.
The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen advised sub county chairpersons to avoid rumors while serving their communities stressing such cripples service delivery.
Nsubuga however called for continued cooperation among all leaders for a better district that is appreciated by everyone.
The function was also blessed by Francis Batinti the Presidential advisor and Rukungiri Municipality Mayor His worship Charles Makuru.
