In Rukungiri—
Lodge Owners in Rukungiri Municipality are moving to tighten the registration of clients following last Thursday’s attack at Amazon Lodge that lead to the death of Amon Niwagaba.
The deceased, Nuwagaba Amon, went to Amazon lodge in Rukungiri town on Thursday Last week, but unknown assailants got access into his room unnoticed and clobbered him to death.
The assailants completed their gruesome mission unnoticed and vanished into the night leaving the murder weapon at the scene of the crime.
Now Rukungiri entrepreneurs association chairman Chrysostom Byaruhanga alias Rwakana has tasked all lodge owners and employees to resume the registration of their clients before hosting them.
Byaruhanga says the registration of lodge occupants which had been instituted by government to fight insecurity had been relaxed leading to incidences of crime
“Every lodge owner and operator needs to have security personnel to monitor activities taking place around the Lodge so that they can be in position to detect and deter crime at the lodging premises,” he advised.
