RUKUNGIRI: MAN ON RUN AFTER KILLING BROTHER, 4 OTHER SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Police in Rukungiri District are hunting for a man who allegedly cut his brother who later died on his way to the hospital
The suspect only identified as Benjamin a resident of Kahoro village, Burama Parish in Bugangari Sub County is alleged to have cut his 24 year old brother Tayebwa Alex after he(Tayebwa) chased their mother threatening to beat her.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman told www.mknewslink.com that Tayebwa is reported to have threatened to beat his mother identified as Arinaitwe Slyvia but the old woman fled her home and took refuge at her neighbor house where she slept.
“It was on the following morning when Tayebwa followed his mother and found her at one of the neighbors called Dinah and started chasing her,” Maate narrated.
However, unknown to him, Tayebwa was followed by his young brother identified as Benjamin who carried a panga and when he found him chasing the mother he cut him on the leg and he bled profusely.
It’s reported that although the residents tried to take him to hospital for medical attention, he died on the way and the matter was reported to Police at Bugangari who visited the scene for inquiries.
Maate did not name the arrested suspects but said that the prime suspect Benjamin is still on the run after fleeing the area.
The case of murder by cutting was registered at Rukungiri Police Station under reference number CRB 1660/2020 to help in Investigations.
