A Section of western division councilors in Rukungiri municipality yesterday stormed the district Resident commission’s (RDC’S) office protesting the misuse of 17 million that were meant to renovate Karangaro health center II.
The councilors led by their speaker Syliviah Twinomugisha told www.mknewslink.com that the council which sat on 23rd. oct.2018 under minute 8 resolved that Karangaro health center II be renovated with funds of DDEG (17m) from the central government and the contract was given to Daikam technologies Construction Company.
According to the minute 8 of that council sitting, councilors ordered the division leadership to renovate karangaro health center II from the floor up to the roof after the cries of locals for the sorry state of the health center by that time.
George Baryanyanga, councilor representing Kitimba ward in the council told www.mknewslink.com that to their surprise they found a report hanging at the division notice board that the renovation work of karangaro health center II came to an end yet there is still a lot to be done at the site.
Dan kaguta, the Rukungiri District Commissioner district urged councilors to stay calm noting that he is also supposed to monitor government programmes and that he will follow up the matter.
“I have already got your complaint, I will work hand in hand with relevant authorities to ensure that the issue is sorted as soon as possible,” Kaguta noted.
