RUKUNGIRI MUNICIPALITY VOTERS REJECT AGE LIMIT REMOVAL

Residents of Rukungiri municipality have voted against the amendment of article 102b of the constitution that puts a presidential age limit at 75 years.
This was yesterday during the consultative meeting with the area member of parliament Hon. Roland Mugume Kaginda in Rukungiri main stadium.

Over six thousand six hundred residents (6,600) people led by Rukungiri municipality mayor Charles Makuru attended the consultative meeting and unanimously rejected the bill that seeks to remove the presidential age limit.
Residents say that there is no need to amend the constitution mostly the Article 102(b) because it would only benefit president Yoweri Kaguta Museven for life the president.
”we the people of Rukungiri municipality we don’t agree with this kind of changing of the constitution because it fevers one
person to rule for life”. They said.
Hon. Roland Mugume Kaginda assured the voters
that he will take their views to parliament. ”all in all the number of 6,600 people who say this article should not be amended should remain intact I don’t see any one supporting amendment.
