RUKUNGIRI POLICE INVESTIGATE DEFACING OF INGRID’S, RUTAHIGWA’S POSTERS BY UNKNOWN PEOPLE

Police in Rukungiri have mounted investigations to discover people who defaced and dismantled campaign posters of aspiring Members of Parliament in Rukungiri district.
The dismantled and defaced campaign posters are of Ingrid Kamateneti Turinaawe, an independent candidate, Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa of NRM who are both battling with Dr. Wallen Nwagaba of FDC for Rukungiri municipality parliamentary seat.
Others whose campaign posters were dismantled and defaced are of the former Rukungiri woman Member of Parliament Winnie Joselyn Babihuga who is also chasing for district woman parliamentary seat with Betty Muzanira of FDC and Medius Natukunda of NRM as an independent candidate.
According to Ingrid Turinaawe, among campaign posters that were defaced include three big bill boards at the Roundabout in Rukungiri town while the ones in Marumba Kyatooko,Omukareere, Rwentondo, Katoobo, Bwooma, Nyakibale were all stolen.
Speaking with www.mknewslink.com reporter, Ingrid said that she suspects that her immediate opponent might be involved in such act saying that she has evidence that her opponent has been conducting meetings aimed at decampagning her.
Ingrid added that this will not let her down but she will continue with her mission of liberating Rukungiri municipality into the promised land full of milk and honey.
SP Henry Kintu,the Rukungiri district police commander warned that such habits will not be accepted adding that whoever is caught will be charged by the law accordingly.
The case of malicious damage has been registered at Rukungiri central police station under reference SD 23/29/10/2020.
