RUKUNGIRI RDC BLAMES POOR PERFORMANCE IN CHURCH FOUNDED SCHOOLS ON FOUNDING BODIES

The Rukungiri District Commissioner, Dan Kaguta, has blamed the poor performance of some church founded schools to poor monitoring by the founding bodies.
Kaguta was on Wednesday Feb 26th speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of a multi-purpose hall at Kashenyi secondary school in Ruhinda Sub County, funded by the government under the ministry of Education and Sports.
He commended Kashenyi Secondary school for the good performance in the recently released Uganda Certificate of Education exams, being one of the best Church founded schools that has improved its standards.
Canon Wycliffe Twinomujuni Mackey, the head teacher Kashenyi Secondary school noted that the school was lucky to have such funding from the government.
“Am optimistic that after the completion of this hall, the challenge of accommodation will be solved because it will manage over 500 students compared to the one we have today which accommodates 150â€. He said.
According to Twinomujuni, the project will cost UGx381 Million and that they have so far received 100 Million shillings for the First phase of construction.
Godfrey Nshabiire, the director Kinombe-Nyaruzinga Construction Company, the contractors of the project said the work will be completed in a period of 2 years.
Dr. Jackson Nzarirwehi, the Rukungiri District education officer and Julius Bagiira the Rukungiri district Engineer among other officials attended the ground breaking ceremony.
