RWAMPARA DISTRICT HEALTH OFFICER ARRESTED OVER CORRUPTION

Rwampara district health officer, Dr.Allan Twesigomwe has been arrested over forgery and mismanagement of funds meant for village health teams(VHT’s) activities and primary health care funds.

Twesigomwe was arrested on 13th Monday evening on orders of Rose Muhindo, the Rwampara Resident district commissioner and is detained at Nyeihanga police station with pending investigations.

RDC Muhindo told mknewslink reporter that her office and the one of chief administrative officer have been receiving complaints for nonpayment of undisclosed amount of money for VHT’S and Local Council I leaders for the activities they carried out during the COVID-19 mobilization as well as facilitation meant for polio immunization activities.

Muhindo also revealed that the suspect made requisition for primary health care funds meant for staff allowances, but never paid to the rightful beneficiaries, but instead paid ghost people who signed on behalf of health workers.
