RWAMPARA FDC CHAIRMAN ONGOMU ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING POLICE OFFICER ON DUTY

Police in Mbarara yesterday arrested and detained Rwampara district FDC chairman Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongomu for assaulting a police officer on duty at Mbarara central police station.

It is alleged that Ongomu had gone to see his friend Muhumuza Bright who was arrested on Tuesday 03rd, November,2020 on charges of leading unlawful procession of NUP supporters after the nomination of NUP principal Kyagulanyi Robert sentamu for presidency.

According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police spokesperson, both files of Bright Muhumuza and Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongomu have been taken to Resident State Attorney for perusal as both suspects wait to be charged in Court.
