A cross section of people in Rwampara District has expressed concern over what they call the betrayal by their leaders after failing to elect their interim leadership of the district.
According to residents, the standoff of their leaders has crippled service delivery in the district yet people were eager to receive their own leadership.
Speaking during a consultative meeting organized by Godson Zabashaija in his home in Kibaare Ndeija sub county Rwampara district on Tuesday, Residents appealed to the government to come to their rescue since leaders have totally failed to diffuse their selfish interests.
The elections of the interim LCV Chairperson for Rwampara flopped two times after some councilors failed to turn up.
Councilors Jordan Musinguzi of Mwizi, Kakyara Justine from Bugamba and Kansiime Annah from Rugando did not turn up.
Those who turned up included Robert Arinanye of Bugamba, Asaph Muhangi of Ndeija, Alice Nakuya and Patience Tumwesigye of Mwizi Sub County.
The race for the interim LCV Chairperson is between Robert Arinanye of Bugamba Sub County and Jordan Musinguzi of Mwizi Sub County.
Ms Javis Barinda a resident of Bukuuna II Nyakabare parish Rugando Sub County noted that it is shameful for the leaders to show their self interests yet the people who elected them are suffering at their expense.
She urged them to dissolve their differences amicably if not they shall not vote when time comes.
