RWANDAN COUPLE REMANDED IN KABALE OVER MURDER

The Kabale Chief Magistrates court on Tuesday charged and remanded a Rwandan couple over the gruesome murder of an 83 years old man and aggravated robbery.

Court that was presided over by the Kabale Grade I magistrate His worship Julius Mutabazi heard from prosecution led by Rachael Nkwanzi that Desire Kwizera 26 and Uwingabire 19 all Rwanda Nationals on May 31st 2024 while at Karujabura Kitumba Sub county Kabale district with malice aforethought unlawfully cause the death of Godfrey Twinomujuni contrary to section 188/189 of the penal code act.

Court was also told that Desire Kwizera 26 and Uwingabire 19 on May 31st 2024 while at Karujabura Kitumba Sub county Kabale district stole a metallic case , clothes, bed sheets, 2 pairs of shoes, Radio old model, leather bag with 2 watches , ATM card in the names of Godfrey Twinomujuni, mattress, a sack containing kitchen utensils, Black shoes , iron box and a bicycle all worth Ugx 2m and at immediately or after the said robbery used a deadly weapon wit a hammer and knife and caused the death of Godfrey Twinomujuni.

Nkwanzi told court investigations into the matter are still going on .

His Worship Mutabazi didn’t allow the duo to take plea as his court has no jurisdiction and the case is a capital offence that can only be heard by the High court he then remanded them to Ndorwa government prison till June 27th 2024 when the case will come up for mention.
